[06:05] Trauma Detox + Healing on a Budget

This is our first question today on the AMA. We're only going with two questions, which is actually Mar's suggestion, which I love because it allows us to go a lot deeper into the many layers of the sometimes finite and sometimes infinite solutions that occur for some of these questions and some of these puzzles that we're trying to figure out how to solve.

So let's listen to Christina. This is our first question today for the AMA. And Christina is gonna ask us about trauma on a budget.

What tips do you have for families who don't have much money but are trying to detox and heal from trauma and mold and all sorts of other exposures? There seem to be so many wonderful and herbs and things that are out there, but so many of them are outside of my reach due to finances.

Just wondering if there, what other ways there are to achieve healing. Thank you so much.

I can literally feel Christina's heart. I almost could tell she was maybe in like a middle economic area or a lower area in potentially the South or the panhandle, or I don't know where you are, Christina, and none of that is judgment. It's just my perception, right?

So wherever you are, it sounds like the budget's really for you. And I, first of all, just want to presence that and honor that and acknowledge that.

I was born into a construct of welfare, which means government red tape, Section 8 housing, eating Velveeta cheese and Kix cereal, and no vegetables. I've been there, I really have.

And so when I offer some of these tools today, I really want you to breathe into them and take them to heart because it's not about just getting super expensive therapy. It's not about asking only why something happened.

It's really about seeing how all of this, every single thing that has happened for you is happening for your own awakening.
And when I say awakening, I mean when terrible things occur and when challenging things occur, they are literally pushing you, fueling you, pulling you forward into a place you've never been.

It's the exercise of the agency of the power of your own choice. And this is going to allow you to step into this beautiful, evolved, incredible, incredible version of Christina, which by the way, that version was the one asking. That version in you was the one asking, how do I do this?

Because even with your exterior circumstances of low money, your heart and your soul are still being guided to ask, How do I heal? How do I move forward?

And that part of you that I'm talking to right now, that is the part of you that's already fully evolved in the future. It just happens to be speaking with us right here in this moment. So feel into this.

The very first thing I want you to do is want you to get free resources. Now, free does not always mean quality, but you can trust me that I did not fill the free resources I'm about to give you with junk. So first thing, head over to

And this is for you, Christina, and all of us to begin. In this understanding process of how do we even access where our trauma is so we can understand where it's there, why it's there, how it's there, who put it there, are we holding it there?

There's an inventory process we're gonna talk about in a moment here called the EI2 process, but everything begins with breath. It's the first thing you do when you're born. It's the last thing you do when you die. And in this space, we create meaning for breathing.

We just create a meaning for our life. And all of these breaths that either guide us towards love or guide us towards fear, it actually is voluntary and involuntary.

So there's some free breathwork training at There's also a journaling prompt and there are some resources there for you and it's totally free and it's totally quality, that is a beautiful place to start.

Mar, we talked about breathwork quite a bit. Before we get into the aspects for Christina and for all of us, have you gone to the depths of your soul with breathwork? Specifically some of the Stan Grof holotropic methods or anything more intense, or have you focused more on just breathing and box breathing and circle breathing?

So I don't think I've been focused on breathing and breathwork as you have. I'm not sure why. Sometimes I use it when I begin a meditation, but I never use breathwork as a tool on its own.

I have tried a practice with a man who specializes in DMT breathwork, which brings you to a really deep meditative state. And that was an amazing experience. It's really amazing to see what your own breath can do to your body and your mind.

Yeah, no doubt. And you bring up a great point because we can have these almost peak experiences like you described. So we have these peak experiences, we go to, and this all relates to your question, Christina. We go to Tony Robbins, we go to a healing weekend.

We have these crazy experiences where we touch God or we touch ourselves. And then what? How do we integrate it? How do we embody it? How do we apply it? This is the arc of wellness that we talk about so much…

The next question is from Errin, my soul sister. I love you, Errin, Errin Smith. She's coming out with an incredible project. I can't even tell you yet how excited I am for this, but I'm going to have her on the podcast, and let's listen to what Errin today.

What's up, Josh Trent and the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast? I've got a question for you based on the incredible podcast episode you did with Carrie, the beautiful goddess mother of your children.

That podcast was my all-time favorite because it was so human and raw and real and vulnerable and the gloves were off and the masks were off and you left it all out on the table and you were just so wide open.

And that's I think what everybody craves to hear that we're all human and we're all going through it together. And so I would love to hear what is Josh Trent going through right now. Are you struggling with anything in specific in human experience?

What are you struggling with right now? And how are you holding up the mirror? What do you see when you look in the mirror? How are you healing from it, navigating it, loving it, honoring it, alchemizing it? What's your process for healing? What's your roadmap for healing when Josh is going through some stuff? And what are the beautiful gifts and lessons that are inside of it.

Because I've noticed this whole entire last year in my life has been so much rugs being pulled out from underneath me, the struggle, so many things. And in every single moment of those struggles, there has been a beautiful, beautiful gift inside of it if we choose to see it. And I'm just wondering what is the beautiful gift inside you right now?

Come on, Errin, put me on the spot. I actually, I felt a little apprehension about this and that's why I know it's good.
So what is the greatest gift and what do I see when I look in the mirror? I see a man who is doing his best to be authentic and honest.

A man who truly deeply in the most cavernous part of his heart just wants to be of service, but he also is humble enough to know that he needs, he requires, and he gets to have this connection to God in order be able to navigate that question and that answer.

So I wanna start this by saying, if we really want to look in the mirror self, something that I've been learning over time through the help of Paul Chek, through the help of many people in my life, and it's just this very simple yet very potent, very potent question in prayer.

I actually just asked this when the eclipse, Mar did you get to sample the eclipse or see any of the eclipse that just happened? No, we couldn't see it over here. Okay. So it was like a full eclipse here in Austin. It was wild. It went from light to dark.

By the way, the episode that Errin is talking about is at So that was the relationship death and rebirth that Carrie Michelle and I went through. And I will say that everything in our life is a series of contractions and expansions.

Another incredible episode we're gonna link here is our episode with Dr. Kelly Brogan. When we just had her in the studio last year and she talked about the healing spiral, which is essentially another way to this love, fear, dark, light, in, out, contraction, expansion. These are the forces in the universe that are part of the universal laws that really I'm going to answer right now.

And I'm actually even watching myself be intellectual I'm nervous about sharing my heart. So funny. It's so funny, isn't it? You guys, the mind, how the mind can just make us protect the heart.

So deep in my heart, there's this question that I asked myself during the eclipse and I just closed my eyes in the sauna space and I was sitting there and I just felt so much gratitude and I just felt so much sadness.

I was feeling everything It was like every emotion of me was just like pouring to the top of the bathtub. And I took my breaths and I just sat there. I did my vertical spray from Mitozen. And I just asked God, I said, God, what is it that I most need to learn? And how can I be most humble to learn it?

And it brings up emotion to me right now because I just know that what I most need to learn is exactly what I teach.
And exactly what I teach is this mastery of how to hold it all, right?

The Wellness Pentagon is the house that we live in. And the house that we live in can be so overwhelming at times because we aren't the ones that built that house. That house was built for us epigenetically, physiologically, neurologically, from our parents, from our ancestors.

And I felt the pain of my father and my grandfather and my mother and her illness of being bipolar. And I felt my brother's pain. I felt just everyone's pain.

It was just, I felt the pain of Scott Jackson when he described he was feeling the pain of all women of all time.
And what I received back in this honest prayer of, you know, God, what is it that I most need to learn and how can I be most humble to learn it?
