4 Ways a Strong Community Can Help You Achieve Your Goals

4 Ways a Strong Community Can Help You Achieve Your GoalsLiving a more healthy lifestyle and getting regular exercise is something we're all aware we should do, but motivating ourselves to actually get off the couch and do it can be a real challenge. It's one of the reasons why so many people give up.

Fitness communities are a great way to get a bit of extra motivation from people on the same journey. It's like having a gym buddy who drags you out of bed, but online.

Let's take a look at how a strong fitness community will help you get motivated, stick to your goals, and optimize your workouts.

Learning from Other People, Both Peers and Experts

One of the great things about fitness communities is that they generally contain crowd-sourced knowledge from both experts and people sharing their results.

For example, let's say you're trying to lose weight, but suffer from a thyroid condition that makes it hard for you to lose weight. You might be able to get some great advice from a registered dietitian, or other people who have successfully overcome the same condition.

This applies to a wide variety of scenarios, not just losing weight. Some people want to gain weight, tone their muscles, or other fitness goals – and an online fitness community like Physeek.fit will be there to help you out!

Try New Exercises, and Expand Your Metrics

Not all of us are lucky enough to have a personal trainer or coach to show us how to exercise. If that's the case, there's no reason you can't get some good insight on how to improve your workout from someone on the same journey.

Whether it's proper form, specific workouts you can do from home, or healthy meal ideas, there's plenty of useful advice to be found in a fitness community.

This means you can try new exercises, and include new target metrics into your training.

Compare Results, and Take Part in Competitions

4 Ways a Strong Community Can Help You Achieve Your GoalsIf you're the competitive sort, fitness communities are a great way to get some additional motivation to push yourself harder and achieve new goals by partaking in fitness challenges.

Whether it's a “number of steps” challenge, distance rode on a bicycle, or comparing your progress to other people on the same journey, you can get a lot of extra motivation from a bit of competition.

You can also use competitions to challenge yourself to push yourself to achieve specific fitness goals – which is also a great way to push yourself to your limits, and reap the rewards!

Don't compare yourself too much to others though, and feel like a “loser” if you aren't getting the same results as someone else. Everyone's journey is different, and some people are more naturally athletic, or have a better genetic predisposition to fitness than others. Or maybe, they were competitive athletes in high school and still retain a good chunk of muscle memory.

The Feeling of Comradery and Support

When you're doing your regular workout, the thing you're usually thinking about is how much you hate doing it. You might even curse the stupid ball for making you do another set of crunches, or wince in pain every time you move a muscle.

When you're in a fitness community, however, you'll probably be thinking more about how many people are around you who are doing it with you.

You can share the good news of your results with the community, and get that sort of recognition and feedback we all crave from others.

As we mentioned earlier, motivation for exercise is one of the toughest hurdles to overcome, so finding a community of like-minded people who are also trying to get fit can be a huge help.
